A NOTFORGOTTEN START

Happy Tuesday!!! I decided my next project will be "Hoe, Hoe, Hoe" by Notforgotten Farm. It looks simple and primitive and fast to stitch!! Right up my alley right now. I gathered the threads for this and I was shocked that Santa's coat was stitched in two shades of "orange". I've never seen Santa in orange....have you? I thought (for a brief moment) that maybe orange would be ok if I tea dyed and distressed it, but I quickly changed my mind and opted for a couple of red shades. I don't have much to show right now. I started it last night and all I completed was the key in the center.

Just wanted to share a glimpse of what's on the horizon, so I'll close for now so I can get some stitching time in.

I like this designer and have not seen them before. I am glad you are doing Santa in red. Love your picture. Where did you get it?
God Bless ~

Oh, that's gonna be a good one Jolene! I think her chart pictures always look different because she tea stains the finished xs before photographing it. (just a guess tho) I love her designs and have about 7 in the stash. Although they are very hard to read (like almost impossible), they are great designs!

Nope, I've never seen an orange Santa either... Looking forward to seeing your color change :)

This looks like a fun one to do. Red's a much better colour for Santa too. Enjoy stitching this up!

Yeay, Jolene! I'm looking forward to seeing this as you work on it. I love NFF designs, though as Andrea said, the charts are usually so hard to read.

Orange huh? Well , I think the red is going to be much better, good choice. That looks really cute.I'm trying frantically to get my Thanksgiving pieces done in time!

Oh, that is so cute, Jolene! I agree, the orange on Santa would have bothered me too much not to make the change! I'm not familiar with Not Forgotten Farm designs--have to check them out :)

Oh this is a great start Jolene, but I'm wondering about the orange for his coat. Maybe, like someone said above, it's tea stained after and looks okay. But I'm with you, I probably would have changed out that color! I like her designs a lot, but haven't stitched any yet.

I just ordered this pattern! I can't believe the red is actually orange! lol! I think you did the right thing -- Santa has to wear red! :D

This is going to look fab for Christmas. I agree about the "orange". Not really a Christmasy color. I look forward to seeing more progress.

Orange does seem odd doesn't it? Can't wait to see more :)

I love this chart too. It is now on my list to do. Hope to get it started and finished before Christmas this year.
I really like the orange santa clothes, very different. That is what has drawn me to the piece. Kind of retro. I am sure that your red will look as fabulous. Can't wait to see it.

I admired this when I first saw it. I can't wait to see your version.

Good idea to change from ornage to red. I'm not an orange kind of gal, so no orange Santas.

Great progress. Yes, orange is a bit odd for Santa. Sometimes I change out colors with something I already have.
