With sweethearts day drawing near, I found it in my "heart" to have another giveaway. As always, I like to have a little fun with my giveaways so I thought I would give you a few options. You've heard the saying:

"Roses are red, violets are blue"

So the first option is to finish the second line, for example:

"I can't live my life without you".

Another option is to "reinvent" the conversation heart. What are some new "sayings" we could print on these traditional candies we all love?

So, the choice is yours. If you would like one entry, choose one of the two options and leave me a comment for one entry. If you want a second entry to up your odds at winning, post another comment so that you actually comment on both options. And if you would like, you may post this on your blog for a third entry and leave me another comment telling me so.

The winner will be randomly selected on Sunday, February 14th, Valentine's Day 2010. You may leave your comments (entries) on this post only until midnight, Saturday, February 13th.
The Valentine's Day winner will be presented with the "Thoughtful Heart" kit by Shepherd's Bush that you see below.

I wish each of you a lovely Valentine's Day and best of luck to you. Your comments can be as corny or as sincere as you would like, just have a little fun while you're at it. It is all about the journey and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

How about x-stitch forever on a conversation heart? The company could make a entire line centered around the love of stitching.
Conversation hearts are my most holiday type candy.

In honor of your love of people Jolene and stitching, the most fitting way to end "Roses are red, violets are blue" would be to say...."Jolene is so sweet and she loves stitching too."
Happy Valentines Day back to you Jolene.

Melody said...

This is corny, but here goes;

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue,
I love to stitch, don't you?

Teresa S. said...

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I'd love some sweets,
And stitching, too.

I'm a much better stitcher than poet :) Thanks for such a wonderful giveaway!

My all-time favorite Valentine came last year from my 3 yr old grandson. It was a construction paper heart with his picture in the middle and the border was the conversation hearts! How about "Never 2 Much Stash" on a conversation heart?

What a neat competition. Every year on our WA we always do Roses are Red.
So I will do a Roses are Red.

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
I can't believe
I'm still married to you.

DH & I have heaps of fun doing this and BTW we will have been married for 34 yrs in Sept.

I'll just give it a try here :)

Roses are red

My life is filled
just being with you :)

I think on the hearts:

Bee my honey

and poetry wise?

Roses are red
Violets are blue
You wake up grouchy
But I still love you!

(my OH is so not a morning person...)

Robin said...

Roses are red

Knit one and purl two

LOL - I am not even a knitter! Thanks for a neat giveaway. Happy stitching.

How fun!

Roses are red, violets are blue,
when I'm not stitching, I just don't know what to do!

Catherine said...

Candy hearts...hmmm....

"Cross" my heart.
Stash collector.
Thread my needle.

Marjorie said...

Great giveaway but after 20 years of marriage it's hard to take V-day seriously!

For the candy hearts, how about something for the disillusioned/single people like "you stink" or similar (perhaps ruder) sentiments?

Lisa said...

Here is one...
Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
My life is complete
when I am stitching for you.

Needles and Fabric
Scissors and Thread
Stash is in my cart and
Valentine's Day is in my heart.

Ok, I guess I am a better stitcher than a poet :)
Have a good day!
