Happy Mother's Day

My Beautiful Mother "Gail"
1936 ~ 2005

If Roses Grow In Heaven

If Roses grow in Heaven, Lord,
please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.

Tell her, I love her and I miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.

Remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.

My Beautiful Mother-In-Law, "Helen"
Age 17

As I was laying in bed this morning enjoying my breakfast and playing on the computer, I remembered a cross stitch I made for my mother  for Mother's Day many years ago.   I thought I would share some photos of it with you today:

This is a pattern from Bent Creek called "Mom and Dad" that I stitched up using my own version of hand dyed threads.  I had it framed in an antique frame that I had cut down to size. I love the marbled purple/gold mat along with the eggplant suede mat that compliments the finish.  I added alot of Mill Hill charms and antique glass beads.  You can click on the photos to supersize them.  I have added some butterflies, tulips and little flowers to personalize it "my style".

Happy Mother's Day!!!

love the mom day poem! And your stitched piece you did, with perfect framing is beautiful. I really like the "Three Crows" pattern - looks like a pretty quick stitch and you gotta love those once in awhile. I absolutely LOVE the strawberry in your banner - did you make it? Sherry

How beautiful hun; I love the picture you stitched for your mom; I will search for that pattern to make for my mom. The poem made me cry; my mom lives in Ohio and me in Colorado I miss her a LOT; she's my BF. I copied the poem to read to her at a later date; when I won't cry. LOL
Thanks for sharing

I always loved that picture of Grandma...she looks so beautiful and young. I was actually just talking to Riley about her. I was remembering spending the night at her house and she would make breakfast for me. She would make Bacon AND Sausage and let me eat them until I got sick!

That was a lovely poem and a lovely cross stitch. It was nice to see your post today! I love you, and I am not looking forward to the day when that ache is in MY heart.

Hi Jolene
I keep seeing your name on other blogs so popped in to take a look.
Your last post was a beautiful one, the photos are lovely, the poem very emotional and the stitching gorgeous, not one I've seen before but will certainly be hunting it out to stitch for next Mother's Day.
Enjoyable, interesting blog ~ I'll be back!
