A TISKET, A TASKET

A tisket, a tasket, I've been working on my Easter basket. Tonight I want to share with you a fun punchneedle design by "With Thy Needle & Thread" called "Speckled Eggs". It is stitched with variegated Valdani thread and Weeks Dye Works.

I started this on Sunday evening and completed it on the following day, Monday. It was so fun!!! Silly as this may sound, but I enjoy looking at the back of the fabric as much as the front. I have some osnaburg which I will stitch to the back side of the Easter design to form a pocket. I am deciding whether or not I will distress it a bit, what do you think? Then I will attach a wire handle and fill the basket with some moss and a few speckled eggs. Some silk ribbon will adorn the handle for the finishing touch. I can't tell you enough how much I love the way this is turning out....so exciting for me.

I have posted a few pictures to show you some step by step progress on this design.

What can I say but LOVE it!!!! I want to hurry and finish it off but just had to take a minute and let you know what I have been up to. As always, thanks for visiting, I hope this inspires you to try punchneedle someday, it really is rewarding. When the basket is finished I will show you how beautiful it will become. Until then, the following is a picture of a scrumptious chocolate cupcake pincushion that my friend, Diane, made me for part of my birthday gift. She knows how much I love pincushions!!!! I will cherish it always...Doesn't it look sweet???

What a cute Easter bunny! The colours are lovely. I have yet to try punchneedle, I think I'm avoiding it because I don't want to start a new addiction!!! The pincushion is sweet too.

I love the look of punchneedle but have never tried it. I can see why you're so in love with this design - it's gorgeous! With Thy Needle & Thread have some lovely patterns, both cross stitch and punchneedle. Can't wait to see it in its final finished form. I don't know about the distressing. The background on it looks a bit aged with the different colours you've used. I do love an aged look though. Thanks for showing us an insight to punchneedle.

I just love your punchneedle Jolene. I have yet to try this, but it looks like it's so much fun and you got such pretty results!!! I think it's funny that you like looking at the back as much as the front. I like to do that too with things.

The pincushion from your friend it beautiful. What a wonderful gift.

Thanks for your comment on my blog today. My sister was mostly done with the turkey last time I seen it. She got busy making jewlry so I don't know for sure if it's done. I sure was looking cute. Thanks for sending it to her, that was so sweet. I have a lot more of SB piece done. I may even have it done when on Monday's post, who knows!

Hi Jolene,
That is so adorable! I can't wait to see it in its finished, basket form. I received punchneedle supplies for Christmas, and as of yet, I have not been brave enough to try it. Maybe this will help to get my courage up for it. That pincushion is so pretty! What a sweet gift!

Jolene, what a gorgeous finish!! I just love it. I haven't tried punch needle but have all the supplies here for it. I just need the courage now. I absolutely LOVE With Thy Needle & Thread's patterns, though, and plan to do a bunch of them--and the CHS punch needle designs--when I get some confidence.

What a beautiful pincushion! That is just so clever, what a neat idea.
