OCTOBER - SO MUCH FUN IN STORE....

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came
-The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
~George Cooper

For those of you that follow my blog know how much I LOVE Halloween and giveaways!!! So during the month of October I will be having a weekly giveaway. So you will need to stay tuned if you wanna play!!

The first giveaway will be for the new Blackbird Designs pattern "Midnight Watch" and of course all the threads and the fabric, too. The winner will get to choose what count of cloth they want and also if they want linen or aida. Sound fun????

Ok, now for the catch, you will need to leave a comment on this post for one entry and tell me what your favorite candy is or what you will be handing out this year for "Trick or Treat". If you are a follower and or sign up to be a follower you will get a second entry, but you will need to mention this in a second post telling me so. And if you would like a third entry, post this giveaway on your blog and let me know that you have done so in a third post. Sound easy enough?? Your entries can be placed until the end of day on October 7th, 2009. I will then post the lucky winner on October 8th, 2009.

It has been raining or hailing here all day and feels more like winter instead of fall. I have been very busy at work this week as I missed all of last week with this stupid flu that has started to go around. Not good!!! I would rather be at work anytime!!! So now I am playing catch up and it's going slow, which means I haven't been able to do any stitching recently. I have put my Sail Away on hold for a while. I just can't seem to work on something that is not fall or Halloween related during October. But, I will finish it soon, before end of year 2009, I promise all my sailor friends!! I have not jumped off the boat for long.

I have tried my hand at designing a Halloween pattern and I am needing to get it stitched quickly along with a crickety old skeleton. I love skeletons as long as they are in good taste and primitive looking. Maybe if I can pick up speed on my office work I can get home in time and hopefully have some energy left in me to pick up that needle and thread. Wish me luck! I look forward to your comments and good luck on the giveaway!! They will continue to get better!! Have a wonderful day in every way!

Hello my favorit candy is "drop". It's typical Dutch. You hear of people who emigrate to another country that they really miss it.
When you are in Holland, you can taste it.

Post number three - I have posted a link to your giveaway on my blog. I hope you have a great turnout. Thanks!

*LOVE* this design! How gracious of you to give away a copy of it along with the fabric & fibers! I would love to be entered in the drawing.

My favorite Halloween candy is definitely the Hershey Special Dark miniature candy bars. Accordingly, that's NOT what I'm giving out because I don't want to deal with the temptation of eating the leftovers. LOL I'll be handing out packs of Red Vines instead since I'm not a fan of licorice.

This is my second post to enter because I'm already a follower of your blog. Thanks!

This is my third post to enter because I have mentioned your wonderful giveaway on my blog. Here is the link:

What a fun giveaway! My favorite candy to give out is Hershey bars. That way if I have any left I will eat them. I know most people choose a candy they don't like so they won't eat them but it's more fun my way!

My favourite Halloween candy is Rockets (called Smarties in the U.S. I believe). I don't give out candy right now because I live in a condo.

My favorite candy -- Vosage's Mo' Bacon Bar, chocolate and bacon! But we don't give that away on Halloween. There aren't many kids in our neighborhood, but when we used to buy candy we always gave away Reese's Peanut Butter cups, the big ones.

Danielle said...

That is such a fun project! My favorite candy has to be good old candy corn. I make myself sick on it every year.

Danielle said...

Just added you to my bloglines list. Does that count for following?

Michelle said...

Well, my favorite candy is Mary Janes ~ all the kids in the family give theirs to me! Of course, anything chocolate too.. in fact, there's no candy I dislike :)

Michelle

P.S. I'm stitching that PS Owl too!

Dee L said...

I must admit to being an M&M lover. I love the wonderful chocolate most of all, but it's such fun to mix and match the colors you put in your mouth at any given time! I love giving them out, too. Just imagining the fun kids will have doing the same thing I'm doing as I eat the leftovers. (And there WILL be leftovers...)

This is my second comment. I just became a follower for the first time. I'm interested to see how it will work. It was fun picking a picture--I'm a tree in NC!

I LOVE Halloween! May have something to do with the fact that I am a displaced Yank but at last the Brits have realised how much fun they have been missing and now the kids have started coming around trick or treating and I have in the past bought a huge bucket of lollipops from Costco but I think this year I shall just buy a whole lot of 2 finger kitkats because if the children don't come around in droves at least my dh will eat them. Love Patti in the U.K.

Halloween is one of my fav theme and my fav candy is the candy corn and Hershney's chocs. Its not big in celebration in my country but we do get the feel of Halloween from shopping malls and hotels and kids get to play by participating at Halloween theme party. No streets treat or tricking or in the neighbourhood.

I would love to be entered into the draw, if that's OK. Even though we don't really celebrate Halloween in Australia, the craze is starting to take off and you can now buy some Halloween items in craft shops etc - I've always been crazy about Halloween designs, and do my own little celebration here :) Living on the 3rd floor of an apartment block, there is probably no chance of a trick or treater anyway, but as for favourite candies, I would have to say some from the UK are my fave special treats - After Eight mints, sherbert UFOs and Bassetts Jelly Babies ... I'm salivating just thinking about them!
